Join host Wilma Mae in the premiere episode of The Healing H.A.C.K. Podcast for an intimate conversation with filmmaker, writer, and director Shani Pride about finding purpose, spiritual practice, and the transformative power of manifestation.

In this deeply personal episode, Shani shares her journey from actor to award-winning storyteller, revealing how she discovered her true calling during the COVID-19 pandemic. After years performing in front of the camera, she made the courageous transition to writing and directing, a shift that Sundance Film Institute recognized and nurtured. Now, she's creating impactful stories that blend social consciousness with compelling narrative, including a feature film shooting in Italy and a television series set in Brooklyn.

What You'll Discover:

Spiritual Practices for Modern Life: Shani opens up about her daily rituals, including meditation, crystal work, and mantra practice. Learn how she uses stillness as a tool for creativity and peace, and why meditation doesn't have to be intimidating. It can happen anywhere, anytime.

The Art of Manifestation: Hear powerful manifestation stories, including Wilma's unique sigil-making practice that helped a friend land his dream CEO position. Shani shares how she's been manifesting since high school, using vision boards and intentional practices to create the life she envisioned, from getting into UCLA and USC to manifesting her current film projects.

Purpose-Driven Creativity: Discover why Shani calls herself an "impact-driven storyteller" and how she harnesses media to enlighten, inspire, and provoke thought. She discusses her upcoming projects, including a film described as "Eat Pray Love meets Erin Brockovich" and "Brownsville Redemption," a series about a teenage piano prodigy navigating survival and creativity.

Self-Care Without Guilt: Both Wilma and Shani, self-described "reformed workaholics," share why self-care isn't indulgent. It's essential. From playing with puppies during the pandemic to establishing boundaries around work hours, they discuss practical ways to prevent burnout while staying productive.

Spiritual Toolkit Building: Explore diverse practices including Buddhist philosophy, crystal healing, healing card decks (like Matt Khan's healing mantras), and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Shani shares how traveling to spiritual centers in India, Bali, and Mexico has shaped her practice.

The Power of Specificity: Learn why being specific in manifestation work is crucial, and why many women struggle to articulate what they truly want for themselves (versus what they want for others).

Conscious Media Consumption: Understand how the stories we consume, from news to social media to film, profoundly affect our spiritual and emotional wellbeing, and why choosing "puppy dogs and rainbows" content isn't frivolous. It's self-preservation.

This conversation is perfect for anyone seeking to build their own spiritual toolkit, creatives looking to align their work with purpose, or anyone curious about manifestation, meditation, and living authentically. Whether you're just beginning your spiritual journey or deepening existing practices, Shani's wisdom and Wilma's insights offer practical guidance for navigating a demanding world with grace.

The goal is simple to help you build a spiritual toolkit that actually supports your life.

00:00:36.079 --> 00:00:37.280
Let's begin.

00:00:41.759 --> 00:00:42.799
I love those glasses.

00:00:43.280 --> 00:00:43.840
Thank you.

00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:44.960
I can see.

00:00:52.399 --> 00:00:53.439
So peaceful.

00:00:53.679 --> 00:00:54.640
It is peaceful.

00:00:55.200 --> 00:00:59.759
It is a um a haven and a place where I can reconnect.

00:00:59.840 --> 00:01:00.079
Yep.

00:01:00.240 --> 00:01:03.679
And hopefully friends can reconnect with themselves as well.

00:01:04.000 --> 00:01:04.319
Yeah.

00:01:04.719 --> 00:01:09.680
So first of all, um would like to introduce you briefly.

00:01:10.239 --> 00:01:13.519
You are the gorgeous, amazing human Shawnee Pride.

00:01:14.719 --> 00:01:19.120
A new friend of mine that I met recently, and we really connected.

00:01:19.439 --> 00:01:20.319
Feels like years.

00:01:20.560 --> 00:01:21.519
It feels like years.

00:01:21.680 --> 00:01:23.519
I felt like, oh my god, I've met my sister.

00:01:23.599 --> 00:01:23.840
Yeah.

00:01:24.079 --> 00:01:25.760
Like the sister I never had.

00:01:26.079 --> 00:01:26.799
Literally.

00:01:27.040 --> 00:01:28.480
There's no way it's just me.

00:01:29.040 --> 00:01:29.760
I know, right?

00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:31.680
Maybe in this lifetime.

00:01:32.000 --> 00:01:32.400
Yeah.

00:01:32.640 --> 00:01:32.879
Yeah.

00:01:33.120 --> 00:01:38.319
It's very, it's very strange and interesting and fascinating when that happens.

00:01:38.719 --> 00:01:41.120
Because I meet a lot a lot of people.

00:01:42.319 --> 00:01:45.439
And it feels like I've met them for the first time.

00:01:45.599 --> 00:01:45.840
Right.

00:01:46.000 --> 00:01:48.719
Even if I have a really amazing connection.

00:01:48.959 --> 00:01:49.599
I agree.

00:01:49.840 --> 00:01:53.120
But then I felt like, oh no, I I know you.

00:01:53.280 --> 00:01:54.480
Yeah, definitely.

00:01:54.719 --> 00:01:55.359
From somewhere.

00:01:55.599 --> 00:01:56.079
For sure.

00:01:56.319 --> 00:01:56.640
Right?

00:01:56.879 --> 00:01:57.840
For sure.

00:01:59.200 --> 00:02:02.079
So that was just like blew my mind.

00:02:02.239 --> 00:02:02.400
Yeah.

00:02:02.560 --> 00:02:19.599
And then the the more amazing thing was that a few weeks earlier, one of my investors and my a dear friend now, and a former client, um, no, I was, I was, no, yes, she was my client.

00:02:20.560 --> 00:02:24.319
She had said to me, You have to meet this amazing woman, Shawnee.

00:02:24.479 --> 00:02:26.800
And I thought, okay, great.

00:02:26.960 --> 00:02:29.360
Whenever that happens, that'll be wonderful.

00:02:29.520 --> 00:02:35.520
And then if like maybe like, I guess it might have been 10 days later, I met you at the summit event.

00:02:35.759 --> 00:02:41.520
She didn't know you were part of that community, and you were just coming into this community.

00:02:41.680 --> 00:02:47.759
And then when you said your name, I was like, I've heard that name before, and I couldn't remember who had said the name.

00:02:47.919 --> 00:02:48.080
Yeah.

00:02:48.240 --> 00:02:52.960
And then it wasn't until we were halfway through our chat and you went, Rochine.

00:02:53.360 --> 00:02:54.879
I went, yes, that's right.

00:02:55.120 --> 00:02:56.080
That's what it was.

00:02:56.319 --> 00:03:02.319
So the fact that someone who I adore and respect immensely said that.

00:03:02.560 --> 00:03:04.240
Yeah, and vice versa.

00:03:04.639 --> 00:03:10.719
It said that about you, which is just so amazing that we gravitated toward each other.

00:03:10.879 --> 00:03:11.199
Right.

00:03:11.360 --> 00:03:15.439
Which is why we were, well, we were amint to meet, for sure.

00:03:15.759 --> 00:03:20.000
And our souls have known each other and we have a connection.

00:03:20.159 --> 00:03:20.319
Yeah.

00:03:20.560 --> 00:03:20.960
100%.

00:03:21.520 --> 00:03:22.159
I'm excited.

00:03:22.319 --> 00:03:22.479
Yeah.

00:03:22.719 --> 00:03:24.719
I'm excited for our journey together.

00:03:26.479 --> 00:03:29.280
Tell me about who Shawnee is.

00:03:29.599 --> 00:03:30.080
Ooh.

00:03:30.800 --> 00:03:35.599
And what are you, where are you at right now in your journey?

00:03:35.919 --> 00:03:36.560
Right.

00:03:36.879 --> 00:03:42.479
I am, I would call myself an impact-driven storyteller.

00:03:43.039 --> 00:03:45.360
I've always been a storyteller.

00:03:45.599 --> 00:04:11.439
I'm technically a writer and director, and I make film and television and short content, but all of that for the purpose of affecting change and for harnessing the power of media, of creativity, of stories to enlighten, inspire, educate, shift, provoke thought, um, and all those beautiful things.

00:04:11.599 --> 00:04:13.840
So I'm a storyteller at heart.

00:04:13.919 --> 00:04:23.439
I'm purposeful, I'm impactful, and um, and yeah, I love to align with the storytelling part of me.

00:04:23.920 --> 00:04:33.279
And in your journey as a writer-director, where you are now, what's different to the beginning of that journey to now?

00:04:33.360 --> 00:04:35.920
Like what would have what how has it evolved?

00:04:36.160 --> 00:04:47.199
And um, and obviously I want to kind of dig into the spiritual side, but I'm sure that has an impact, that whatever journey you've taken on how your work has evolved.

00:04:47.519 --> 00:04:48.560
A hundred percent.

00:04:48.800 --> 00:05:03.600
I I'm very spiritual, first and foremost, and um I bring that essence to my work as well, not directly, not sort of on the nose, but in in the essence of who I am.

00:05:03.759 --> 00:05:10.639
It shows up in my writing, it shows up in the way I capture moments and um particularly visually capture moments.

00:05:10.800 --> 00:05:15.759
But I started in front of the camera and evolved to now being behind the camera.

00:05:16.079 --> 00:05:17.040
So you were an actor?

00:05:17.279 --> 00:05:17.839
For years.

00:05:18.079 --> 00:05:18.720
Oh, really?

00:05:18.959 --> 00:05:21.199
Yeah, for many, many, many years.

00:05:21.439 --> 00:05:26.399
Um started very young in high school, went to high school for the arts in Los Angeles.

00:05:26.639 --> 00:05:38.079
Okay, which was an incredible, rigorous, very prestigious program, and then went on to sell a theater school and started acting before I even finished school.

00:05:38.240 --> 00:05:41.120
I immediately started working as an actor.

00:05:41.680 --> 00:05:49.279
And I loved it until it became too small of a container for me, actually.

00:05:49.519 --> 00:05:59.920
And I started to feel this deep desire to expand and to be to have more agency around the stories that I was participating in.

00:06:00.079 --> 00:06:02.079
Because as an actor, you have no agency.

00:06:02.240 --> 00:06:06.560
You're told what to say, what to wear, where to stand, where to go, how to do it.

00:06:06.800 --> 00:06:12.000
And the writer and director really is the one that it's their story to tell.

00:06:12.319 --> 00:06:19.920
So I was around a lot of writers for many years, very successful writers, and they would always say, You're a writer.

00:06:20.079 --> 00:06:32.639
And I would never embody that or take that on because I was so much trained as an actor, like in all the best teachers across from Europe to LA, New York, everywhere.

00:06:32.800 --> 00:06:36.000
And so I thought, I'm not trained as a writer, so I'm not a writer.

00:06:36.240 --> 00:06:42.800
And then I finally embraced that part of me and trained with all the prestigious schools.

00:06:42.879 --> 00:06:52.319
And then I realized that because I was acting for so many years, I already knew story arc, I knew character arc, I knew three act structure, like I knew all the things.

00:06:52.399 --> 00:06:54.000
I just didn't realize I knew them.

00:06:54.399 --> 00:06:57.360
And so I just fell into it so effortlessly.

00:06:57.519 --> 00:07:14.879
And directing was the same way because I worked with so many directors, and because I am an actor, I know how to work with actors and connect with them and pull out really dynamic performances, and I speak that language, and so it just was so naturally the next step for me.

00:07:15.199 --> 00:07:20.160
When you say naturally the next step, surely it wasn't an easy step to take.

00:07:20.639 --> 00:07:21.199
No, definitely.

00:07:21.360 --> 00:07:22.399
It's not as easy.

00:07:22.879 --> 00:07:35.199
What was the what was the I mean, what process did you go through internally, spiritually, in terms of like coming to the decision, I'm going to now move into the space of writing, directing.

00:07:35.360 --> 00:07:38.959
Is that and how I mean, how was that a struggle for you initially?

00:07:39.199 --> 00:07:44.160
Was that, did it, did you just go, it's time, and then you moved into it?

00:07:44.319 --> 00:07:48.319
And there was space because it happened as COVID was happening.

00:07:48.560 --> 00:07:48.879
Okay.

00:07:49.120 --> 00:07:57.120
So I had a pause as we all did, um, and time to sort of explore that.

00:07:57.759 --> 00:08:00.800
Um, because we weren't doing anything, because everything shut down.

00:08:00.879 --> 00:08:04.399
The the industry, the film and television industry definitely shut down.

00:08:04.560 --> 00:08:06.000
No one was doing anything.

00:08:06.160 --> 00:08:08.639
So it was the perfect time to actually write.

00:08:08.800 --> 00:08:09.120
Yeah.

00:08:09.360 --> 00:08:25.439
Um, and so I used that as an opportunity to see if it was something that I would take to and would resonate in my soul and in my spirit and in my heart, like acting did for so many years.

00:08:25.680 --> 00:08:30.240
And um the transition, it's like everything in life.

00:08:30.480 --> 00:08:34.639
The hardest part of the transition was deciding to say yes to it.

00:08:34.879 --> 00:08:39.600
The moment I actually said yes, it was love at first sight.

00:08:39.759 --> 00:08:44.320
I just, I'm naturally very good at writing.

00:08:44.480 --> 00:08:47.039
Like my friends would always say, You're a writer.

00:08:47.279 --> 00:08:50.559
And I finally understood why they said that.

00:08:50.639 --> 00:08:56.000
Because I would read their scripts and give them notes and analyze, and they were like, you think like a writer.

00:08:56.159 --> 00:09:02.399
And then the same thing for directing, like Sundance actually was the one who told me I'm a director.

00:09:02.639 --> 00:09:04.799
They're like, you write like a director.

00:09:04.879 --> 00:09:05.120
Wow.

00:09:05.279 --> 00:09:11.279
You write so clearly and vividly, you can see your stories, and so you write in pictures.

00:09:11.600 --> 00:09:15.519
So you are the one who should be directing your stories.

00:09:15.919 --> 00:09:18.879
And I was like, I'm not a director.

00:09:19.279 --> 00:09:22.159
Then I tried it and I loved it.

00:09:22.399 --> 00:09:22.799
Really?

00:09:23.519 --> 00:09:24.720
And what were you directing?

00:09:24.879 --> 00:09:25.440
Your own stuff?

00:09:26.000 --> 00:09:26.639
My own stuff.

00:09:27.120 --> 00:09:30.399
So first I started with just directing a scene, you know.

00:09:30.559 --> 00:09:34.240
I wrote a scene and then I directed it with Sundance, actually.

00:09:34.480 --> 00:09:34.799
Okay.

00:09:35.120 --> 00:09:43.120
And the moment I stepped into that space, and the moment I was in that space with the actors, it just felt like home.

00:09:43.279 --> 00:09:46.799
I knew like this is this is for me for sure.

00:09:47.120 --> 00:09:57.600
It's a real gift to be able to discover or find or re-remind yourself of the path that you're meant to be on.

00:09:57.840 --> 00:09:59.200
Right, it's true.

00:09:59.519 --> 00:10:11.360
And I think quite a lot of people, myself included, struggle with what am I meant to be doing here on this planet in this lifetime.

00:10:11.519 --> 00:10:12.159
Yeah.

00:10:12.960 --> 00:10:24.399
And I used to terrorize myself, and I don't say that word lightly, I terrorized myself because I didn't have like, well, I don't really know what career I'm supposed to be in.

00:10:24.960 --> 00:10:31.120
And I don't have a specific talent for something that I've discovered yet.

00:10:32.639 --> 00:10:44.559
And I was like, okay, but then I got probably probably about 15 years ago, I was like, you terrorizing yourself doesn't serve a purpose at all.

00:10:44.799 --> 00:10:45.039
Right.

00:10:45.200 --> 00:10:46.240
So let's just stop.

00:10:46.320 --> 00:10:46.559
Yeah.

00:10:46.720 --> 00:10:51.600
We're just flowing through life, and the purpose, if it's supposed to come to you, it will.

00:10:51.840 --> 00:10:52.799
It'll emerge.

00:10:53.039 --> 00:10:54.000
And it emerged.

00:10:54.159 --> 00:10:54.480
Yeah.

00:10:55.120 --> 00:10:55.519
Right.

00:10:55.679 --> 00:10:57.200
So now I'm walking that path.

00:10:57.440 --> 00:10:57.919
Yes.

00:10:58.159 --> 00:11:05.360
So it must feel amazing to be able to find that purpose at any time in life.

00:11:05.600 --> 00:11:06.000
Yeah.

00:11:06.240 --> 00:11:06.559
Right?

00:11:06.639 --> 00:11:08.480
Even if it's later in life.

00:11:08.720 --> 00:11:12.720
And then you start to you start to explore that and pursue that.

00:11:12.879 --> 00:11:15.360
So I mean that's really exciting that you did that.

00:11:15.679 --> 00:11:19.679
Yeah, I'm such an advocate for purpose-driven lives.

00:11:19.840 --> 00:11:20.080
Yeah.

00:11:20.240 --> 00:11:22.879
And I do think that everyone has a purpose in this life.

00:11:22.960 --> 00:11:56.960
And most people don't find it, which is really um sad for me, because I think if people were standing in their purpose, there'd be less violence, there'd be less um projecting, there'd be less fear-based actions, there'd be less of all the stuff that we don't like about the world that we're navigating and more of the things we do because people would be connected to themselves in a way that would pull them away from things that are just distractions from who they really are at their core.

00:11:57.279 --> 00:11:57.600
Yeah.

00:11:57.919 --> 00:12:07.279
Yeah, and I feel that that fear of either being judged, or not even the fear, the reality of people judging them.

00:12:07.440 --> 00:12:07.840
Yep.

00:12:08.240 --> 00:12:08.399
Yeah.

00:12:08.639 --> 00:12:12.000
Can stop people from pursuing their purpose.

00:12:12.320 --> 00:12:21.759
And just fear in general, like we're taught from such a young age to like get a this kind of job, get married, have kids.

00:12:22.000 --> 00:12:40.399
Like, there's all this like still stiffness around life that if your purpose is to go off and be a photographer in the wilderness, you know, it's like some people don't even know how to, well, yeah, I have a family or be, how am I gonna do that?

00:12:40.480 --> 00:12:48.559
Or what are people gonna think of me, and and be judged by judging themselves, other people judging them, society judging them.

00:12:48.960 --> 00:12:54.000
And it's sad because it's like, what's it all for at the end of the day, right?

00:12:54.080 --> 00:12:58.960
If you're not really aligned with how you're living your life, really.

00:12:59.360 --> 00:13:09.039
Yeah, I I I I hope that the young generation is embracing their purpose earlier.

00:13:09.279 --> 00:13:09.919
Yeah.

00:13:10.559 --> 00:13:12.720
Because it took me a while.

00:13:13.039 --> 00:13:14.720
Yeah, and I think that that's normal.

00:13:14.799 --> 00:13:16.559
I think And it's not yeah, it's okay.

00:13:16.720 --> 00:13:23.679
It's not like I think for me, finding my purpose in my high school years isn't is an outlier.

00:13:23.840 --> 00:13:24.159
Yeah.

00:13:24.399 --> 00:13:39.600
I think most people, this is why I think even in college, when they're like, you have to decide what you're gonna do with your life and choose a major, when pe in your 20s you're still exploring with no idea what you're gonna do and be in your 20s, most people.

00:13:40.399 --> 00:13:45.360
So, and I think it all leads to where you are.

00:13:45.519 --> 00:14:01.919
So, you finding your path that you're on now, which is so beautiful and resonating with so many people, you needed everything before to get to where you are now, which is more reason why people should give themselves grace, yes.

00:14:02.240 --> 00:14:10.159
Right, yes, and that that that's when I stopped terrorizing myself and gave myself grace.

00:14:10.480 --> 00:14:13.360
You were building the foundation, yes, you're absolutely right.

00:14:13.519 --> 00:14:15.440
And even me, I acted for many years.

00:14:15.600 --> 00:14:22.799
That was the foundation for, and I'm still open to acting in my own projects, but I was not meant to just be an actor.

00:14:22.960 --> 00:14:29.120
Like the universe had so much more in store for me that I was not ready for at that particular time.

00:14:29.360 --> 00:14:38.559
But I was learning everything I needed to learn and evolving in ways I needed to evolve to be able to step into the positions and roles that I'm in now.

00:14:38.799 --> 00:14:45.519
Yeah, and that path is not always, it's it's almost it's almost never a smooth path.

00:14:45.840 --> 00:14:46.399
Never.

00:14:47.039 --> 00:14:47.600
Never.

00:14:48.080 --> 00:14:50.399
Which brings me to my next question.

00:14:51.679 --> 00:14:55.279
Were you did you always consider yourself a spiritual being?

00:14:55.440 --> 00:15:07.679
Um, you know there's a quote that says Um we are we are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

00:15:08.320 --> 00:15:14.000
Did you always know something like that in yourself or did that did you come to that?

00:15:15.120 --> 00:15:21.440
I started really exploring that around high school.

00:15:21.840 --> 00:15:28.240
And I think being a creative, at least for me, aligned itself beautifully with that.

00:15:28.480 --> 00:15:32.159
Because I'm the type of creative that goes within to create.

00:15:32.480 --> 00:15:43.679
And when I go within, I always go to like Mother God, you know, like I go to the universe, I go to nature, I go to these very spiritual things.

00:15:44.159 --> 00:15:54.639
And I feel like the act of creating, whether it's a flower being created or a film being created, I think is a very spiritual process for me.

00:15:54.960 --> 00:15:56.000
Um, not for everyone.

00:15:56.159 --> 00:16:03.279
So for some people it's very technical or biological or what have you, but for me it's very spiritual.

00:16:03.360 --> 00:16:17.039
So I think my spirituality has definitely evolved as I've grown older and I've traveled the world and experienced all these different spiritual cultures and practices and principles, which I love.

00:16:17.120 --> 00:16:19.440
Like I love traveling for that reason.

00:16:19.679 --> 00:16:25.919
Going to India or Bali or Mexico City, all these places that have a very deeply rooted spirituality.

00:16:26.000 --> 00:16:26.320
Yeah.

00:16:26.480 --> 00:16:33.759
And that has just shaped me as a human being, as an artist, as a soul moving through this world.

00:16:34.080 --> 00:16:47.600
Do you have a particular attachment or um fondness for a particular tradition or practice in spirituality?

00:16:47.759 --> 00:16:51.679
Do you combine and like what is your do you have a practice?

00:16:51.840 --> 00:16:54.480
Do you do you practice anything on a daily basis?

00:16:54.720 --> 00:17:01.120
Do you have any traditions or schools of thought that you are more aligned with?

00:17:01.440 --> 00:17:02.480
That I subscribe to.

00:17:24.799 --> 00:17:33.920
Um, I love um crystal work, which recently I've like fell into.

00:17:34.079 --> 00:17:46.480
I went to Merida in Mexico, and for some reason, there in the cenote, and I just all of a sudden started gravitating towards crystals while I was there.

00:17:46.559 --> 00:17:53.039
So now everywhere I travel, I get a crystal or three, one, two, or three crystals from that particular region.

00:17:53.519 --> 00:17:58.880
And then meditating with the crystals, meditating, I use a lot of mantras.

00:17:59.599 --> 00:18:09.039
Um, I I read everything from Wayne Dyer to Deepak Chopra to all everything in between.

00:18:09.200 --> 00:18:09.440
Yeah.

00:18:09.599 --> 00:18:25.680
Um, so I I absorb a lot of sort of spiritual teachings, but from Kabbalah to you name it, I just kind of pull things that universally I think are beautiful practices that everyone can benefit from.

00:18:26.000 --> 00:18:26.480
Yeah.

00:18:26.799 --> 00:18:30.000
It's um it's interesting with the crystals.

00:18:30.079 --> 00:18:35.839
That's something that I am curious about from afar.

00:18:36.160 --> 00:18:36.799
Yeah.

00:18:37.119 --> 00:18:38.079
So was I.

00:18:38.400 --> 00:18:47.519
Um also what I am curious about is how how have you found that crystals impact you?

00:18:48.160 --> 00:18:51.200
Do you feel a tangible difference?

00:18:51.440 --> 00:18:57.039
Because I always wonder, I haven't, I used a crystal once.

00:18:58.480 --> 00:19:10.559
It was given to me when I was when I was in deep depression, and I was hospitalized, and someone gave me a crystal as a gift, and I had no idea what to do with it, but I had it by my bed.

00:19:11.039 --> 00:19:26.799
And over time that crystal changed from being clear to cloudy, as if it was, and I would hold it against me, and it was almost as if it was pulling out the whatever was toxic that was within me.

00:19:27.440 --> 00:19:34.480
And I still have that crystal and I I clean it, but that was the closest I got to any kind of work with it.

00:19:34.640 --> 00:19:37.599
What impact do you feel it's had with you?

00:19:38.160 --> 00:19:41.519
I um I do think crystals are palpable.

00:19:41.680 --> 00:19:44.799
I do feel the energy of a crystal.

00:19:45.039 --> 00:19:55.359
And what I find really interesting, so whenever I go to a place in the world, I feel like, at least for me, crystals choose me.

00:19:55.599 --> 00:20:03.359
So I'll gravitate toward a particular crystal, and then I'll look up its significance and meaning later.

00:20:03.599 --> 00:20:03.920
Right.

00:20:04.079 --> 00:20:13.440
And it's always aligned impeccably with whatever I'm experiencing at that particular time in my life.

00:20:13.839 --> 00:20:15.359
Wow, I love that.

00:20:15.599 --> 00:20:17.200
Yeah, it's crazy.

00:20:17.680 --> 00:20:19.279
So it speaks to you.

00:20:19.519 --> 00:20:20.160
Yeah.

00:20:20.799 --> 00:20:35.200
All right, so you you gravitate towards crystals and you'll look up the meaning later, and then you'll find and discover that it's aligned with something you're going through or experiencing, or some part, some other healing that you need to do.

00:20:37.359 --> 00:20:39.759
And then I'll work with it.

00:20:39.920 --> 00:20:48.079
So especially if I'm in a very challenging moment, then I'll and say I'm I'm trying to write, for example.

00:20:48.319 --> 00:21:03.200
Then prior to writing or during writing, I'll just hold the crystal, keep it with me, or I'll meditate with it prior to starting my day or prior to moving into some form of creativity.

00:21:03.599 --> 00:21:08.799
And I find it really does what it's supposed to do.

00:21:09.599 --> 00:21:10.240
Yeah.

00:21:11.359 --> 00:21:29.359
In terms of maybe some of your other practices that you have in your life, one of the things I I, you know, we call this the healing hack, which is about if hack is an acronym, it stands for healing, abundance, connection, and knowledge.

00:21:29.920 --> 00:21:36.799
So the idea of being able to build your own healing toolkit, your own spiritual toolkit, because what works for you may not work for me.

00:21:37.039 --> 00:21:37.440
100%.

00:21:37.920 --> 00:21:39.119
But it might work for someone else.

00:21:39.359 --> 00:21:39.759
100%.

00:21:40.480 --> 00:21:49.920
So I think it's what I I want to be able to do is to share other people's experiences with their own personal spiritual practices.

00:21:50.559 --> 00:21:54.319
And that uh they might be able to incorporate into their own practices.

00:21:54.640 --> 00:21:56.480
So, what practices do you do?

00:21:56.799 --> 00:21:58.880
Do you have one, two, or three?

00:21:58.960 --> 00:22:01.279
And and and how How do they impact you?

00:22:01.440 --> 00:22:02.559
So we've got the crystals.

00:22:02.880 --> 00:22:03.920
So crystals is one.

00:22:04.000 --> 00:22:05.839
Meditation is big for me as well.

00:22:05.920 --> 00:22:12.640
And I know for some people who are intimidated by the word meditation, um, as was I for many years.

00:22:12.799 --> 00:22:17.039
And my way of approaching meditation is just stillness.

00:22:17.519 --> 00:22:24.720
Um you can meditate anywhere at any point at any time, in any moment, in any place.

00:22:25.119 --> 00:22:32.799
And so when I say meditation, I mean constantly making an effort to be still.

00:22:33.200 --> 00:22:46.000
And particularly if I'm reacting to something or overwhelmed by something, um, or needing to find peace and serenity.

00:22:46.640 --> 00:22:54.319
Um, I try to start my days with meditation, and as we know, like when you're traveling so much, it's hard.

00:22:54.559 --> 00:22:59.119
All these rituals go out the window, and it's so difficult to stay consistent.

00:22:59.359 --> 00:23:08.640
But I know for a fact, if I start my day with meditation, I have a far more productive, more peaceful day than if I don't.

00:23:08.799 --> 00:23:10.160
Yeah, exactly.

00:23:10.400 --> 00:23:11.440
It's really powerful.

00:23:11.680 --> 00:23:12.160
Yeah.

00:23:12.480 --> 00:23:14.240
Anything else that you do?

00:23:14.880 --> 00:23:18.480
I love again, I love like mantras.

00:23:18.720 --> 00:23:24.079
I do, I have these decks where like I have a healing deck, for example.

00:23:24.319 --> 00:23:31.519
Um, and I love pulling these cards and then reading whatever is on it.

00:23:32.000 --> 00:23:44.160
And always, like the crystals, if I whatever card I pull at that particular moment, it's always speaking directly to something that I needed to hear, I need to be reminded of in that moment.

00:23:44.640 --> 00:23:59.359
So I will meditate and then sometimes pull a card, read what's on the card, and then sit with in meditation whatever comes up on that particular card for me.

00:23:59.759 --> 00:24:03.359
What uh is there a particular deck that you use that you would share?

00:24:03.519 --> 00:24:04.480
Do you remember the name?

00:24:04.640 --> 00:24:18.079
I I think one of them is called, and don't quote me, but I'm like 90% sure Matt Khan is this healing deck that I actually bought when I was in LA when I was going through a very difficult moment.

00:24:18.960 --> 00:24:23.359
And it's like a blue, light blue colored deck.

00:24:23.440 --> 00:24:30.799
And I think it's literally called the healing deck or the healing month or healing mantras or something along that line.

00:24:31.039 --> 00:24:31.200
Okay.

00:24:31.279 --> 00:24:34.000
I'll look it up and hopefully add that into the show notes.

00:24:34.240 --> 00:24:34.640
Yeah.

00:24:34.880 --> 00:24:43.519
Um, and when you when you bought the deck, did it did it instruct you to activate that deck for yourself, or did you just immediately just pull?

00:24:43.920 --> 00:24:45.200
That's a good question.

00:24:45.359 --> 00:24:51.759
I think there is a little like pamphlet that comes with it.

00:24:52.160 --> 00:25:01.920
Um I'm trying to remember, it's been a few years now, but I think intuitively I was in a season of healing.

00:25:02.160 --> 00:25:07.279
So I knew anything related to healing, I was assigned yet.

00:25:07.839 --> 00:25:26.400
The reason I ask is that when you have um things that are for you, like your crystals, or let's say you read tarot, um, or you wear a a talisman of sorts, that they're usually activated for you.

00:25:26.720 --> 00:25:27.119
Right.

00:25:27.359 --> 00:25:32.160
Right, so that that becomes your energetic connection and link.

00:25:32.960 --> 00:25:37.839
And I've seen that with with tarot cards.

00:25:38.079 --> 00:25:41.279
I have my own talismans that I wear.

00:25:41.359 --> 00:25:48.720
In fact, I just rediscovered one yesterday that was given to me by my mother, and I hadn't worn it in a long time.

00:25:49.279 --> 00:25:53.200
But that we did energetic work to attach that to me.

00:25:54.720 --> 00:26:04.880
And some of the decks that I have I sit with before I use them and will do energetic work around that deck.

00:26:05.359 --> 00:26:07.680
So that that deck is really for me.

00:26:08.000 --> 00:26:09.359
Yeah, I love that.

00:26:09.519 --> 00:26:19.599
I mean, personally, any anything spiritually related, energetically, I'm either drawn to it or I'm not.

00:26:20.000 --> 00:26:22.240
So I was drawn to that deck.

00:26:22.319 --> 00:26:22.640
Okay.

00:26:23.119 --> 00:26:26.240
Because it was what I needed at that time.

00:26:26.559 --> 00:26:34.160
Um, and the same with the crystals, and the same with a book I may read or a podcast I may listen to.

00:26:34.720 --> 00:26:44.720
I like I'm very attuned and attuned to um where my spirit is trying to take me versus not trying to take me.

00:26:44.880 --> 00:26:52.240
Even when I travel and I walk into a temple, you know, like some temples pull me in, some don't.

00:26:52.480 --> 00:26:52.799
Yeah.

00:26:53.039 --> 00:26:53.359
Yeah.

00:26:53.519 --> 00:26:54.480
So I think you're right.

00:26:54.559 --> 00:26:57.839
I think for me it just sort of happens organically.

00:26:58.559 --> 00:26:58.880
Yeah.

00:26:59.200 --> 00:26:59.920
That makes sense.

00:27:00.319 --> 00:27:01.519
That makes sense.

00:27:01.839 --> 00:27:19.440
And I guess the other question that I have for you is are there either people or organizations that you're more drawn to in this season of your life now that you've I'm not gonna make an assumption that one is fully healed.

00:27:20.319 --> 00:27:21.839
I I always think we're all healing.

00:27:22.160 --> 00:27:22.559
All the time.

00:27:22.799 --> 00:27:23.599
Always be healing.

00:27:23.920 --> 00:27:25.039
Always be healing.

00:27:25.680 --> 00:27:27.440
If you're not growing your diet.

00:27:27.680 --> 00:27:27.920
Right.

00:27:28.079 --> 00:27:28.480
Yeah.

00:27:28.799 --> 00:27:37.359
So um, in this season of your life, are there um certain teachers or traditions that you are aligned with?

00:27:37.839 --> 00:27:39.519
That's a great question.

00:27:39.759 --> 00:27:54.400
Um It's interesting because there are seasons where I am fully immersed in like spiritual work, healing work, um, growth-based like self-realization type work.

00:27:54.880 --> 00:28:00.319
Um SRF is actually comes to mind, self-realization center.

00:28:00.400 --> 00:28:02.880
I don't know if you know, or self-realization fellowship.

00:28:03.200 --> 00:28:04.319
He was really powerful.

00:28:04.480 --> 00:28:10.160
So he has a book, um, yoga nanda, the autobiography of a yoga.

00:28:10.640 --> 00:28:11.039
Yes.

00:28:11.279 --> 00:28:19.599
So that was a such a beautiful um long, I mean, uh probably 20 years now.

00:28:19.839 --> 00:28:22.400
Um I've been going to that center.

00:28:22.559 --> 00:28:25.359
When I went to India, I visited one of his centers in India.

00:28:25.440 --> 00:28:28.799
He's from India, so I visited one of the centers outside of Delhi.

00:28:29.039 --> 00:28:35.519
And um, so yeah, so there's times like that where I'll be so immersed in it.

00:28:35.680 --> 00:28:50.640
And then there are times like this, which is a very interesting time for me, where I'm my creativity is my spirituality in the sense of I'm pulling all of these things that I've experienced in my life.

00:28:51.599 --> 00:28:57.920
Heartbreak, um, moments of success, whatever, what have you.

00:28:58.160 --> 00:29:14.880
And I'm sort of harnessing that power through what I'm creating because the goal is to help others and help others find themselves work their way through difficult situations, be enlightened, etc., in ways that I can help do that.

00:29:15.039 --> 00:29:21.519
Not to say that I'm some guru, but like that is what's really calling me spiritually right now.

00:29:21.759 --> 00:29:30.000
And of course, I still meditate and I have to stay grounded in these things, but there's a deeply rooted connection to that at this particular time.

00:29:30.240 --> 00:29:30.559
Yeah.

00:29:31.039 --> 00:29:33.279
Well, I feel like I feel like we need that in the world.

00:29:33.359 --> 00:29:42.799
I think we need more stories that help people to connect with themselves, to learn how to build the resilience to work through the difficult times.

00:29:43.119 --> 00:29:43.920
Yes, 100%.

00:29:44.319 --> 00:29:50.400
And stories are ancient, they're the oldest form of teaching, right?

00:29:50.559 --> 00:30:03.039
Back to like literally primitive, you know, hum humans, where through stories they would tell people where to get food and where the lions were and where not to be and where to be.

00:30:03.119 --> 00:30:09.839
And so it was always that for humanity, and it still is in such a powerful way.

00:30:09.920 --> 00:30:25.680
And I don't think people often realize how powerful the stories that they consume are, whether it's through social media or film or television or news media or whatever outlet you're consuming, but it affects you, and we talked about this.

00:30:25.839 --> 00:30:28.880
Yes, it really affects you for better or for worse.

00:30:29.039 --> 00:30:29.279
Yeah.

00:30:29.359 --> 00:30:29.519
Yeah.

00:30:29.759 --> 00:30:40.720
And then, you know, as we were talking about the pandemic, for me, I had to turn off the news because it was too overwhelming.

00:30:41.039 --> 00:30:54.400
And for the first time ever, even watching films around there seems to there seem to be a lot of films and podcasts around and TV series around murder.

00:30:54.640 --> 00:30:56.000
Yeah, look, there are a lot of people.

00:30:56.160 --> 00:30:58.799
And it's that I still do not find that entertaining.

00:30:59.839 --> 00:31:03.599
And as humans, we are drawn to that, right?

00:31:03.839 --> 00:31:07.039
There's something about that that it's like watching a cr a train crash.

00:31:07.279 --> 00:31:08.319
This morbid fascination.

00:31:10.480 --> 00:31:18.000
But when you don't understand how that's affecting your soul, that's where it becomes precarious.

00:31:18.079 --> 00:31:23.759
I I think even um Victor was talking about how he can't watch certain things right before bed, right?

00:31:23.920 --> 00:31:29.359
Because it does, it affects your sleep, your dreams, the way you wake up the next morning.

00:31:29.599 --> 00:31:30.480
Yeah, you know.

00:31:30.799 --> 00:31:34.880
I mean, I I could only I I call it puppy dogs and rainbows.

00:31:35.039 --> 00:31:35.440
Right.

00:31:35.680 --> 00:31:37.039
That's all I can consume.

00:31:37.599 --> 00:31:38.160
Right.

00:31:38.480 --> 00:31:39.039
That's it.

00:31:39.200 --> 00:31:39.440
Right.

00:31:39.759 --> 00:31:50.559
And in during the pandemic, when when I had launched Dark Beauty Healing, we were giving away free therapy to women of color, it was really intense.

00:31:50.799 --> 00:31:52.960
It was really intense, it was really hard.

00:31:53.119 --> 00:31:58.000
Give also being in the pandemic, and I found that I was burning out.

00:31:59.039 --> 00:32:10.960
And I said to my team, and obviously we were all remote, I said, I'm gonna need to, in order for me to navigate through this, I'm gonna need to not be online in the mornings.

00:32:12.240 --> 00:32:19.359
I'm I can only come online after midday, and I need the mornings to just do whatever my soul tells me to do.

00:32:19.759 --> 00:32:29.680
And what I would do is I'd get up, I'd go and get walk to the coffee shop, get a coffee, go, and then two doors down, there's a doggy daycare.

00:32:29.839 --> 00:32:35.359
And I would sit down, and every few minutes somebody would come out with a dog to go take it for a walk.

00:32:35.680 --> 00:32:37.359
And they would bring the dog over.

00:32:37.839 --> 00:32:46.720
Because that obviously, clearly, I'm a dog freak and I love dogs, and they would bring the dogs over so I could just give them a little cuddle and play with them.

00:32:46.960 --> 00:32:53.279
And I would do that in the mornings, and like within a month, my whole being had shifted.

00:32:53.599 --> 00:32:54.480
Powerful.

00:32:54.960 --> 00:32:57.440
And I gave myself the space to do that.

00:32:57.599 --> 00:32:59.359
I'm glad I was able to do that.

00:32:59.599 --> 00:32:59.839
Absolutely.

00:33:00.079 --> 00:33:01.039
Not everybody can.

00:33:01.279 --> 00:33:01.599
No.

00:33:02.240 --> 00:33:07.519
But um, I was able to then still that was the way I had to rebuild resilience.

00:33:07.759 --> 00:33:08.240
Yes.

00:33:08.480 --> 00:33:18.640
And it was, it sounds like indulgent, but it was true healing just to play with the dogs and have my little morning coffee and sit outside.

00:33:18.799 --> 00:33:24.640
And I was in New York, so I couldn't really be in nature, but um, it did really help.

00:33:24.720 --> 00:33:26.960
It was simple and almost free.

00:33:27.200 --> 00:33:28.079
And therapeutic.

00:33:28.160 --> 00:33:34.400
And I don't, and I think we need to like move away from this notion that self-care is indulgent.

00:33:34.640 --> 00:33:35.599
Right, exactly.

00:33:35.920 --> 00:33:37.759
You know, because it's necessary.

00:33:38.079 --> 00:33:38.480
Yes.

00:33:38.640 --> 00:33:42.400
And if it takes all day, it takes all day.

00:33:42.559 --> 00:33:42.720
Yeah.

00:33:42.880 --> 00:33:44.720
If it takes a second, it takes a second.

00:33:44.880 --> 00:33:54.240
Like whatever that individual needs at that particular time in order to be in the best iteration of themselves, there's nothing more important than that.

00:33:54.400 --> 00:33:54.799
Yeah.

00:33:55.599 --> 00:34:06.160
I think that the difficult part of that is that we are still in a culture, especially in America, of you have to work to live.

00:34:08.960 --> 00:34:19.599
And with the health care, with all the things, the jobs that you have to take, because you get health care with that job, you have enough money and prices are going up.

00:34:19.679 --> 00:34:23.280
You know, to live in New York is insanely expensive.

00:34:23.840 --> 00:34:26.559
And it's really hard.

00:34:26.719 --> 00:34:26.960
Yeah.

00:34:27.119 --> 00:34:34.800
And so to give yourself that space and that grace to be able to do that healing feels indulgent and hard.

00:34:35.440 --> 00:34:41.360
And you feel guilty because you should be productive, you should be out there working.

00:34:41.519 --> 00:34:43.599
But in fact, the opposite is true.

00:34:43.679 --> 00:34:48.559
In fact, you should be taking care of yourself and giving yourself that time and space.

00:34:48.719 --> 00:34:52.000
That's the luxury in life, not the not the brand name.

00:34:52.320 --> 00:34:52.960
Yes.

00:34:53.280 --> 00:34:59.679
And, yes, and I, from experience as a reformed workaholic.

00:35:00.000 --> 00:35:00.559
Me too.

00:35:00.960 --> 00:35:12.480
Um, so we're speaking from experience, no judgment, but I have found, and as I've matured in life, that the more balanced I am, the more productive I am.

00:35:12.719 --> 00:35:18.239
Because when you're burnt out, 10 hours of work is really only four.

00:35:18.559 --> 00:35:22.960
Six of those hours, you're just you're not connected.

00:35:23.199 --> 00:36:02.000
But if you are focused and sharp and healed and whole and happy and at peace, yeah, two hours of work could be more productive than 10 hours of work because you're so in it and of it and like connected to it, whatever it is, that it's just like I believe in this notion of like the four-hour work week, you know, because I do think that if you structure balance into your life, and that's like emotional, physical, spiritual, fit, like all working out, meditating, playing with puppies, like whatever that is for you.

00:36:02.400 --> 00:36:10.480
If you work that into your life, you're just elevating at such a high frequency, you're just knocking things out left and right.

00:36:10.639 --> 00:36:10.880
Yeah.

00:36:11.119 --> 00:36:11.599
You know.

00:36:11.920 --> 00:36:27.039
I feel like the journey I've been on for the last couple of years when I decided to go down this road is that um I made a very clear, very conscious decision that I wasn't going to overwork myself.

00:36:27.599 --> 00:36:34.559
Um, because I have a lot of other things going on in my life that I need to be front and center with.

00:36:35.440 --> 00:36:39.039
And I need to be able to fit it all in and not kill myself in the process.

00:36:39.360 --> 00:36:40.239
A hundred percent.

00:36:40.480 --> 00:36:48.079
And I'm when I made that very clear decision in my mind, and I did my intentioning work around this.

00:36:48.400 --> 00:37:00.880
The interesting thing is that everything has pretty much magically dropped into place in a way I've never had to like and it's never been super intense and stressful.

00:37:01.199 --> 00:37:02.480
None of this has been.

00:37:02.639 --> 00:37:05.280
And it was it was a mindset shift.

00:37:05.519 --> 00:37:06.159
Absolutely.

00:37:06.400 --> 00:37:06.960
Absolutely.

00:37:07.199 --> 00:37:07.920
That was all I did.

00:37:08.159 --> 00:37:09.199
Yeah, 100%.

00:37:10.480 --> 00:37:17.519
And when when I and I and I fully, fully adhere to manifesting work.

00:37:17.920 --> 00:37:22.400
That's one of my major practices that I've rediscovered.

00:37:22.639 --> 00:37:24.320
Used to do it in my early 20s.

00:37:24.559 --> 00:37:24.960
Yeah.

00:37:25.199 --> 00:37:26.239
That's one for me too.

00:37:26.320 --> 00:37:27.119
I left that out.

00:37:27.199 --> 00:37:27.599
That's huge.

00:37:27.920 --> 00:37:29.119
Right, doing the manifestation.

00:37:29.440 --> 00:37:30.159
Manifestation work.

00:37:30.320 --> 00:37:32.079
Tell me about your manifestation work.

00:37:32.400 --> 00:37:33.840
I'm with you on manifestation.

00:37:34.000 --> 00:37:44.159
I think there's also this mentality around anything that you accomplish in life, you have to work very, very, very hard for.

00:37:44.400 --> 00:37:48.960
And I'm not saying sit around all day and watch TV.

00:37:49.280 --> 00:37:49.440
Right.

00:37:50.000 --> 00:37:51.280
Well, but that I definitely don't do.

00:37:51.519 --> 00:37:52.320
We're not doing that.

00:37:53.119 --> 00:37:59.519
But it is a mindset shift around things coming because I believe we live in a world of abundance.

00:37:59.679 --> 00:38:00.239
I really do.

00:38:00.320 --> 00:38:07.119
And I believe that everything is accessible to us if we are in the right mindset and if we are ready for those things.

00:38:07.199 --> 00:38:07.519
Yeah.

00:38:08.000 --> 00:38:13.280
And I've always manifested from high school years.

00:38:13.440 --> 00:38:14.320
I would manifest.

00:38:14.400 --> 00:38:26.159
It's funny because a friend of mine told me recently, in recent years, maybe the last five or seven years or something, she went, she was a high my best friend in high school.

00:38:26.480 --> 00:38:29.760
She's like, I just always thought you were spoiled.

00:38:30.239 --> 00:38:34.960
Because everything you said you wanted in life, you got.

00:38:35.599 --> 00:38:42.480
And she was like, but I didn't realize that you were manifesting these things in your life.

00:38:42.719 --> 00:38:44.960
And then she's like, now I get it.

00:38:45.199 --> 00:38:46.320
Now I totally get it.

00:38:46.400 --> 00:38:56.880
And it's like, yes, yes, because I would, I did a lot of vision work, which I still do, and I did a lot of manifesting with everything, with getting into high school for the arts.

00:38:56.960 --> 00:38:59.280
It was impossible to get into this school.

00:38:59.440 --> 00:39:02.559
I got into UCLA Theater School and USC Theater School.

00:39:02.800 --> 00:39:04.559
Impossible to get into these schools.

00:39:04.719 --> 00:39:05.039
Wow.

00:39:05.280 --> 00:39:09.119
USC particularly choose 12 people out of thousands.

00:39:09.360 --> 00:39:09.840
What?

00:39:10.159 --> 00:39:22.239
And I would just envision my path and really believe in it and believe in a higher power that would that would help me usher me through these things.

00:39:22.559 --> 00:39:25.920
And I was manifesting these things that came forth.

00:39:26.079 --> 00:39:28.800
And I think that's exactly what everyone should be doing.

00:39:29.039 --> 00:39:30.079
They should be doing that.

00:39:30.239 --> 00:39:32.239
And there are many different ways to manifest.

00:39:32.559 --> 00:39:32.960
Many.

00:39:33.119 --> 00:39:34.400
There is not just one way.

00:39:34.639 --> 00:39:34.960
No.

00:39:35.840 --> 00:39:36.159
Many.

00:39:36.480 --> 00:39:38.320
I love the the visioning that you did.

00:39:38.400 --> 00:39:39.519
Did you do a vision board?

00:39:39.760 --> 00:39:40.880
I did vision boards, whatever.

00:39:41.199 --> 00:39:42.159
So what did you did you do?

00:39:42.239 --> 00:39:44.800
What's sort of like cutting out pictures from magazines?

00:39:46.159 --> 00:39:48.000
And putting them putting them on a poster board.

00:39:48.320 --> 00:39:49.840
And then putting it on the wall.

00:39:50.079 --> 00:39:50.400
Yes.

00:39:50.639 --> 00:39:53.039
And literally seeing it every day.

00:39:53.360 --> 00:39:53.599
Yeah.

00:39:53.760 --> 00:39:55.760
I still have a vision board to this day.

00:39:56.000 --> 00:39:57.440
Do you in my closet?

00:39:57.679 --> 00:39:58.960
Do you update it?

00:39:59.280 --> 00:40:05.760
Not as often as I probably should, but what I've been noticing is that everything on that board is manifesting.

00:40:05.920 --> 00:40:11.519
So I probably need to now update it to keep that pushing forward.

00:40:11.840 --> 00:40:21.599
Um but yeah, I don't, I don't, the vision board I don't take as seriously as some people do, but I have done it for sure.

00:40:21.840 --> 00:40:26.320
When I'm in the mood of doing that sort of arts and craft type thing.

00:40:26.400 --> 00:40:27.039
Yeah.

00:40:27.920 --> 00:40:29.599
But it's powerful.

00:40:29.840 --> 00:40:30.400
It really is.

00:40:30.559 --> 00:40:39.280
And I think when people open up to it, I mean, I I I sometimes my kids joke with me, but I'm the woo-woo one of the family.

00:40:39.519 --> 00:40:45.039
And as soon as I talk about anything, remotely spiritual eyes start rolling.

00:40:45.360 --> 00:41:04.239
And and yet recently, you know, my son was, you know, talking about the things he wanted in his life and talking about them daily, daily, saying it over and over again, and just listening and not getting in the way.

00:41:04.639 --> 00:41:10.400
And I think within a few months, he didn't realize he was manifesting by repeating this over and over.

00:41:10.719 --> 00:41:12.000
It's like a mantra.

00:41:13.440 --> 00:41:20.239
And within a few months, pretty much everything he had been that he wanted had actually come to pass.

00:41:20.559 --> 00:41:21.039
Yes.

00:41:21.199 --> 00:41:21.599
Love it.

00:41:21.760 --> 00:41:23.760
And I just went, that's what manifesting is.

00:41:23.920 --> 00:41:25.360
And he's like a mom.

00:41:25.840 --> 00:41:28.880
And mantras are a very powerful way to manifest.

00:41:29.119 --> 00:41:29.599
Yes.

00:41:29.840 --> 00:41:30.960
I love mantras.

00:41:31.119 --> 00:41:31.920
We love a mantra.

00:41:32.079 --> 00:41:36.719
And mantra, I think, is really powerful for those that are trying to incorporate these practices.

00:41:36.880 --> 00:41:48.159
If you're going through a very difficult time in your life and you're in a very difficult space energetically, mantras pull you, even if you don't believe it.

00:41:48.480 --> 00:41:48.880
Yes.

00:41:49.119 --> 00:41:56.000
If you repeat a mantra every single day, you will start to embody the thing subconsciously.

00:41:56.239 --> 00:41:58.079
That's what's so great about mantras.

00:41:58.239 --> 00:42:00.159
You don't even have to believe it.

00:42:00.400 --> 00:42:04.239
You don't have to think this will, this will definitely come true for me.

00:42:04.320 --> 00:42:07.599
You could be like, this is the craziest thing that this is not going to happen.

00:42:07.760 --> 00:42:19.760
And then to your sons and mine and your testament, you'll look up 30 days later and be a completely different person, have a completely different experience around you.

00:42:20.159 --> 00:42:21.280
Yeah, really.

00:42:21.840 --> 00:42:27.039
It's um it I had forgotten how powerful manifesting was.

00:42:27.199 --> 00:42:30.559
And my mother had taught me how to manifest.

00:42:31.039 --> 00:42:52.320
And in my early 20s, I used to do it, forgot about it when I moved to the UK, got on with my life, and didn't realize that everything I was trying to manifest had manifested with even my move to the UK and my first career, and all of those things were things I had tried I'd wanted to manifest.

00:42:53.280 --> 00:43:07.360
And I'd forgotten about it until about, I want to say nine years ago, before I was even living back in New York, I had met up with a friend of mine who I used to wait tables with in New York in the 80s.

00:43:07.679 --> 00:43:14.079
And she said, Wilma, you know, I'm with the father of my child today because of you.

00:43:14.239 --> 00:43:15.440
Well, I was like, what do you mean?

00:43:15.599 --> 00:43:20.320
She said, Don't you remember you taught me how to do this manifesting work and these rituals?

00:43:20.480 --> 00:43:21.599
I said, I did.

00:43:22.480 --> 00:43:23.599
She said, Yes.

00:43:23.760 --> 00:43:26.079
And she said, she told me the ritual.

00:43:26.159 --> 00:43:29.679
I said, she said to me, Wilma, you told me the ritual to do.

00:43:29.920 --> 00:43:33.599
And I did it, wanted to find the person, my person.

00:43:33.760 --> 00:43:41.760
And I did, I met this guy, and I thought it was great, that worked, and then realized this guy wasn't the guy for me.

00:43:42.000 --> 00:43:43.039
They broke up.

00:43:43.280 --> 00:43:50.400
And she said, I think, if I remember correctly, she said, and I remember you saying you have to be really specific.

00:43:50.559 --> 00:43:50.800
Yeah.

00:43:50.960 --> 00:43:53.519
And I wasn't as specific as I should have been.

00:43:53.599 --> 00:43:59.599
So I went back and did it again, and then did that ritual again, and then I am now still to.

00:44:00.159 --> 00:44:05.039
Today with the man who the father of my child and my husband, and that was that ritual that I did.

00:44:05.119 --> 00:44:07.599
And I said, Well, you did that work, that had nothing to do with me.

00:44:07.679 --> 00:44:08.000
Yeah.

00:44:08.400 --> 00:44:09.760
But brava.

00:44:10.559 --> 00:44:10.960
Yeah, yeah.

00:44:11.280 --> 00:44:11.519
Right.

00:44:11.679 --> 00:44:16.719
So, all of that to say that the work with manifesting.

00:44:16.800 --> 00:44:21.199
And so when I rediscovered that was the beginning, that friend's story.

00:44:22.239 --> 00:44:29.519
And it, but it took another few years for me to really go, I need to start this work again.

00:44:29.760 --> 00:44:36.320
I think I took it for granted that it because it used to come so easily to me.

00:44:36.559 --> 00:44:37.199
Yeah.

00:44:38.079 --> 00:44:41.760
And then you get out of the habit of doing the work.

00:44:42.719 --> 00:44:46.719
So when I think just don't lose that thought.

00:44:46.880 --> 00:44:49.119
I think as we get older, we get more jaded.

00:44:49.440 --> 00:44:50.320
Jaded.

00:44:50.719 --> 00:44:51.039
Yeah.

00:44:51.280 --> 00:44:54.559
So when you're younger, you're you're more optimistic.

00:44:54.880 --> 00:45:00.159
And we lose that as we get older, which is really tragic and sad.

00:45:00.320 --> 00:45:08.159
So there's like this battling of like staying in that sense of awe and wonder and curiosity and endless possibilities.

00:45:08.480 --> 00:45:09.760
That childlike nature.

00:45:10.000 --> 00:45:10.639
Yes.

00:45:11.039 --> 00:45:11.599
Yes.

00:45:11.840 --> 00:45:12.480
Yeah.

00:45:12.960 --> 00:45:22.239
Now I started to really connect with my manifesting work, not just for myself, but for friends.

00:45:22.400 --> 00:45:28.480
I really wanted, for me, I love having friendships where we're on journeys together.

00:45:29.119 --> 00:45:29.360
Right?

00:45:29.519 --> 00:45:37.119
We're not, I don't speak to friends every day, but when we check in, you know, they're doing work too to move forward in life.

00:45:37.280 --> 00:45:39.679
They're struggling or they're doing, but they're doing work.

00:45:39.760 --> 00:45:40.559
They're figuring it out.

00:45:40.639 --> 00:45:43.599
They're going, okay, I'm stuck here.

00:45:43.920 --> 00:45:46.559
How can I unblock this thing?

00:45:46.800 --> 00:45:49.599
And then they go and do the work, whatever that work looks like.

00:45:49.760 --> 00:45:51.760
So I love those kinds of relationships.

00:45:52.079 --> 00:45:52.480
Same.

00:45:52.639 --> 00:45:52.960
Yeah?

00:45:53.280 --> 00:45:53.679
Same.

00:45:54.000 --> 00:46:07.519
And what I started doing when I moved here was I started reconnecting with work around manifesting, but in put in in particular with sigil making.

00:46:08.400 --> 00:46:26.159
And I started reading about this through the author Aidan Walkter, who is uh a he practices what he calls dirt magic, which I love, the idea of dirt magic.

00:46:26.320 --> 00:46:49.280
He's incredibly experienced uh witch and with understands many different traditions, and he his books are really very down to earth and which I like, but incredibly he's very he's super knowledgeable.

00:46:50.400 --> 00:46:55.920
And so I was really fascinated by this sigil work.

00:46:56.000 --> 00:47:01.679
So sigils are a means for encoding information into your deep mind, right?

00:47:01.840 --> 00:47:04.480
It's the manifestation of that, so it's a symbol.

00:47:05.679 --> 00:47:17.199
And what I've kind of taken what he put in his book and morphed it into some of my own systems.

00:47:17.519 --> 00:47:35.119
And what I tend to do is I will send instructions to a friend, and uh I had a friend who was leaving a a job and didn't know what his next gig was going to be, and you know, was stressed about that, and I don't know his industry, and I was like, I don't know what to tell you.

00:47:35.199 --> 00:47:37.039
I said, but I can make a sigil for you.

00:47:37.440 --> 00:47:41.360
And he's like, I have no idea what that is, but I'm game for anything.

00:47:41.519 --> 00:47:51.119
So I gave him the instructions, and what what you do is you sit down and you write out in great detail everything you want to call into your life.

00:47:52.239 --> 00:47:57.920
And when I say specificity is your friend, specificity is your friend.

00:47:58.639 --> 00:48:00.639
Be incredibly detailed.

00:48:00.719 --> 00:48:04.239
And it may only be about one thing in your life, it doesn't have to be everything.

00:48:04.719 --> 00:48:04.960
Right.

00:48:05.199 --> 00:48:08.719
It can be just I want to call this in, I don't want to call this in.

00:48:09.440 --> 00:48:20.239
And then when you do that, you write it down one to two pages, and then you sit with it for maybe a few days or a week or however long you feel, and then you think, okay, do I need to tweak it?

00:48:20.480 --> 00:48:21.199
Tweak it.

00:48:21.360 --> 00:48:32.559
And then the next part of that is you have to then sit with it and write down, reduce it down to one to two pages, only using positive language.

00:48:32.880 --> 00:48:33.440
Right.

00:48:34.159 --> 00:48:37.039
That's hard for a lot of people.

00:48:37.280 --> 00:48:39.360
So I so let me correct myself.

00:48:39.599 --> 00:48:43.599
The first step is one to two pages of what you want to call in.

00:48:44.000 --> 00:48:50.960
Then the second step is one to two paragraphs, reducing it down to one to two paragraphs only using positive language.

00:48:51.280 --> 00:48:52.000
Correct.

00:48:52.800 --> 00:49:12.639
Then you have to reduce it again, sit with it for a few days, tweak it, then reduce it to one to two sentences, not only using positive language, but also um writing it as if you're already living that reality and it has come to pass.

00:49:13.360 --> 00:49:14.159
Love that.

00:49:14.400 --> 00:49:20.400
So those one to two sentences from one to two pages is really hard work.

00:49:20.880 --> 00:49:21.519
Very.

00:49:22.079 --> 00:49:22.559
Right?

00:49:22.800 --> 00:49:45.760
Very but it's hard, but it's also like, and it's you'll you'll see where this is going, but as an entrepreneur, when you're trying to basically get to the heart of who your avatar is or what your purpose is for your your huge mission of this company, yeah, distilling it down.

00:49:45.920 --> 00:49:48.079
But we have to do that with our lives as well, right?

00:49:48.719 --> 00:49:49.119
Absolutely.

00:49:49.360 --> 00:49:54.239
And which to me is like basically getting down to the essence of your purpose, you know.

00:49:54.639 --> 00:50:00.320
And m mind you, not a lot of people are here for that work.

00:50:00.639 --> 00:50:02.000
Oh, it's work.

00:50:02.239 --> 00:50:02.800
It's work.

00:50:03.039 --> 00:50:06.000
And a lot of people get overwhelmed by this notion.

00:50:06.400 --> 00:50:22.559
And one of the things I discovered during doing this for friends was that, and I didn't know this going in, but I started to see a pattern that when it was men that I would give these instructions to, they would come back to me within a week or two, sometimes sooner.

00:50:22.719 --> 00:50:25.519
They were very clear about what they wanted.

00:50:25.840 --> 00:50:26.800
Interesting.

00:50:27.039 --> 00:50:34.400
With the women, I would say 90% of the women I've given the instructions to either have never come back to me.

00:50:34.639 --> 00:50:35.440
Oh, wow.

00:50:35.840 --> 00:50:38.079
Or took months.

00:50:38.880 --> 00:50:40.639
That's interesting.

00:50:41.039 --> 00:50:52.400
And what I think it could be is that they're not comfortable yet with allowing themselves to want the things that hit home.

00:50:52.559 --> 00:50:53.519
That's exactly what it is.

00:50:53.679 --> 00:50:54.800
Because I'm like, why is that?

00:50:54.960 --> 00:50:55.599
But it's true.

00:50:55.760 --> 00:51:02.559
I think A, women are afraid to desire for themselves.

00:51:02.800 --> 00:51:02.960
Yes.

00:51:03.119 --> 00:51:08.079
They can do it for their husbands, their kids, their jobs, even, but for themselves.

00:51:08.320 --> 00:51:15.920
And you're right, and I think it does come down to this feeling of either that's selfish or that's I don't have time for that.

00:51:16.000 --> 00:51:23.360
I'm busy taking care of everyone else, this nurturing thing that women have been prescribed for far too long.

00:51:23.599 --> 00:51:24.559
But it's true.

00:51:24.639 --> 00:51:24.800
Yeah.

00:51:24.960 --> 00:51:28.000
Where men are very capable of thinking about themselves.

00:51:29.760 --> 00:51:30.400
No problem.

00:51:30.800 --> 00:51:32.480
No problem whatsoever.

00:51:33.280 --> 00:51:34.559
This is what I want.

00:51:34.800 --> 00:51:35.199
Right.

00:51:35.360 --> 00:51:35.679
Right.

00:51:35.920 --> 00:51:42.480
But then what happened was this friend, this male friend, um, did the work pretty quickly.

00:51:42.800 --> 00:51:47.679
He was motivated to do it pretty quickly, and he gave me the two sentences.

00:51:47.920 --> 00:51:53.199
And by the time I see the two sentences, I don't really know what he's trying to manifest.

00:51:53.280 --> 00:51:54.079
That's not my job.

00:51:54.239 --> 00:51:54.400
Right.

00:51:54.559 --> 00:51:55.360
And I don't care.

00:51:55.519 --> 00:51:55.840
Right.

00:51:56.320 --> 00:52:13.760
But what I then do is when I'm then in the next energetic alignment, because because I travel a lot, I have getting grounded and aligned in a space where I feel that I can do this work sometimes takes me months.

00:52:14.159 --> 00:52:21.360
So I tell everybody you've done the majority of the work by getting down to those two sentences.

00:52:21.599 --> 00:52:22.880
It's already in play.

00:52:24.480 --> 00:52:26.480
So Yeah, because that's a lot of work.

00:52:26.559 --> 00:52:27.119
That's a lot of work.

00:52:27.360 --> 00:52:28.880
It sounds very simple, but it's not.

00:52:29.119 --> 00:52:29.360
Right.

00:52:29.519 --> 00:52:29.760
Right.

00:52:30.000 --> 00:52:36.239
By the time I know I'm in the energetic space, and that usually means I need to be in solitude for a couple of weeks.

00:52:36.639 --> 00:52:39.679
Um my my diet has to be on point.

00:52:40.079 --> 00:52:57.599
So when I'm in that space, then I go into ritual and I will then remove all of the vowels from those two sentences and any of the repeating consonants and the letters that I'm left with, I create a hand-drawn symbol.

00:52:59.360 --> 00:53:06.239
And I and I'm in, I'm in ritual, I'm in front of my altar, and I'm calling in my people.

00:53:06.880 --> 00:53:11.440
And when I'm done with that drawing, I send that to the friend.

00:53:12.480 --> 00:53:17.360
And I say, you can, I send it to them as like a PDF document.

00:53:18.000 --> 00:53:27.280
And I said, you should print it out, fold it up, put it in your wallet, and or save it as a screensaver on your phone, and then forget about it.

00:53:27.440 --> 00:53:28.320
Get out of the way.

00:53:28.639 --> 00:53:34.079
As my mother used to always say, as soon as you finish doing your manifesting work, get out of the way.

00:53:34.400 --> 00:53:36.000
Let the powers that be.

00:53:36.159 --> 00:53:36.400
Right.

00:53:36.480 --> 00:53:36.559
Yeah.

00:53:36.880 --> 00:53:37.840
It's now in motion.

00:53:38.079 --> 00:53:40.079
You don't need to obsess about it.

00:53:40.239 --> 00:53:41.199
Just let it be.

00:53:41.360 --> 00:53:42.320
Get on with your life.

00:53:42.719 --> 00:53:46.320
It doesn't mean don't do anything to push forward to get to that goal.

00:53:46.559 --> 00:53:46.800
Right.

00:53:46.880 --> 00:53:49.760
And stay open to the things you need to do to push forward.

00:53:50.000 --> 00:53:50.400
Exactly.

00:53:50.559 --> 00:53:52.719
But don't obsess for an outcome.

00:53:53.119 --> 00:53:54.239
Because then that blocks it.

00:53:54.320 --> 00:53:55.679
That energy will block it.

00:53:55.920 --> 00:53:56.159
Yes.

00:53:56.400 --> 00:54:02.800
So this friend of mine, I'm I think I did it for him in like the October, November.

00:54:03.199 --> 00:54:07.760
Not January, he texted me and said, Oh my God, this shit's working.

00:54:08.000 --> 00:54:08.719
I was like, what?

00:54:08.880 --> 00:54:09.679
Tell me what happened.

00:54:09.840 --> 00:54:11.199
He goes, we have to get on a call.

00:54:11.360 --> 00:54:14.559
We ended up not getting on a call until later that year, like July.

00:54:14.639 --> 00:54:14.960
Oh wow.

00:54:15.199 --> 00:54:17.840
Because our lives were just everything's moving fast.

00:54:18.079 --> 00:54:36.400
And we hopped on a call and he said to me, the week after the sigil was done, I got a call from a headhunter who basically said, There's this job going, and the outgoing CEO said, the only person who can do this job is you.

00:54:38.400 --> 00:54:43.599
And it was not in the industry, it was an adjacent industry to one he had worked in.

00:54:44.000 --> 00:54:47.679
And they he said, You can go in, name your name your price.

00:54:49.519 --> 00:54:55.679
And it's owned by a private equity company, and they'll give you shares.

00:54:55.840 --> 00:54:58.559
They want you to grow it, and so they can sell it.

00:54:59.199 --> 00:55:02.159
And he went in, named his pie in the sky price.

00:55:02.239 --> 00:55:03.039
They were like, done.

00:55:03.280 --> 00:55:03.679
No problem.

00:55:03.920 --> 00:55:04.559
No problem.

00:55:05.199 --> 00:55:08.559
And and basically has equity.

00:55:08.639 --> 00:55:12.960
And he said, I am loving my work so much.

00:55:13.119 --> 00:55:14.480
I'm having so much fun.

00:55:14.960 --> 00:55:18.320
This has been such a game changer for me and my family.

00:55:18.559 --> 00:55:19.360
Love it.

00:55:19.840 --> 00:55:23.840
And it has opened up our lives immensely.

00:55:24.159 --> 00:55:24.639
Love it.

00:55:24.800 --> 00:55:26.639
We have optionality now.

00:55:27.760 --> 00:55:29.679
And he's like, Thank you so much.

00:55:29.760 --> 00:55:31.280
I said, Oh no, you did this work.

00:55:32.320 --> 00:55:32.880
It is work.

00:55:33.119 --> 00:55:33.599
It's work.

00:55:33.760 --> 00:55:34.400
He did the work.

00:55:34.639 --> 00:55:34.880
Yeah.

00:55:35.119 --> 00:55:41.280
I just sprinkled a little little fairy dust on top, but that was already he did it.

00:55:41.519 --> 00:55:45.199
But the sid the sigil goes to work in your deep mind.

00:55:45.519 --> 00:55:49.199
And when you like for me, I have mine on my screensaver on my phone.

00:55:50.079 --> 00:55:51.840
And I forgot what I wrote.

00:55:52.079 --> 00:55:52.719
Right, right.

00:55:52.800 --> 00:55:53.519
It doesn't matter.

00:55:53.679 --> 00:55:54.559
It doesn't even matter.

00:55:54.800 --> 00:55:55.039
Right.

00:55:55.280 --> 00:55:56.159
But I see it.

00:55:56.320 --> 00:55:56.639
Yeah.

00:55:57.039 --> 00:55:58.079
I know it's working.

00:55:58.320 --> 00:55:59.440
Right, exactly.

00:55:59.679 --> 00:56:04.000
And so that work, that, that, that work is so important, that manifesting work.

00:56:04.159 --> 00:56:09.840
And then going briefly back to when I started doing this back in the 80s.

00:56:12.239 --> 00:56:16.480
About six months ago, I opened a box that I didn't even know what was in that box.

00:56:16.960 --> 00:56:24.079
And I found these two two notebook papers that I had written on.

00:56:24.880 --> 00:56:28.719
And this must have been maybe 1988.

00:56:29.280 --> 00:56:29.679
Wow.

00:56:30.480 --> 00:56:32.000
It was in my early 20s.

00:56:33.679 --> 00:56:34.639
In New York.

00:56:35.679 --> 00:56:39.119
Anyway, I wrote everything that I wanted to call into my life.

00:56:39.360 --> 00:56:40.960
It was really immature.

00:56:42.000 --> 00:56:43.119
Well, or not.

00:56:43.440 --> 00:56:44.000
Well, yeah.

00:56:44.719 --> 00:56:50.719
But I my hand went up to my mouth and I went, oh my God, that's I got all of it.

00:56:50.960 --> 00:56:53.360
I'd totally forgotten I'd done that work.

00:56:54.320 --> 00:56:54.960
Exactly.

00:56:55.199 --> 00:56:57.039
Like the path that I'm on now.

00:56:57.760 --> 00:57:01.119
It was all leading up to 100%.

00:57:01.760 --> 00:57:09.360
And I mean, I literally it was immature, but everything was with a really good heart.

00:57:10.559 --> 00:57:15.599
And all of that stuff manifested, but I got away from it.

00:57:15.840 --> 00:57:27.440
So I love this connection to an energetic force that exists, that's as they always say, you know, the universe is is solving for you.

00:57:27.519 --> 00:57:32.159
What is the there's a saying that it's it's always working for you, not against you.

00:57:33.039 --> 00:57:35.199
If we if we kind of get out of our own way.

00:57:35.519 --> 00:57:37.360
100, 100, 100%.

00:57:37.920 --> 00:57:38.480
Yeah.

00:57:38.639 --> 00:57:39.039
Yeah.

00:57:39.360 --> 00:57:41.440
So let me ask you another question.

00:57:41.679 --> 00:57:52.639
And you don't need to answer because it may be um it may be confidential now, but are you can you talk about the project you're working on now yet?

00:57:53.039 --> 00:57:54.400
Yeah, I can.

00:57:54.639 --> 00:58:08.960
Um not in all its specificity, of course, but um, but yes, I'm working on a film that shoots in Italy, um, mostly in Italy, but in New York and then parts of Louisiana.

00:58:09.440 --> 00:58:14.239
Um that's based on my life story that I I've told you about.

00:58:14.480 --> 00:58:21.199
I think briefly I've told you about it, but um it's like Eat Pray Love meets Aaron Brokovich.

00:58:21.760 --> 00:58:29.440
And it's this love story about self-love, about falling in love with oneself and fully stepping into your power.

00:58:29.679 --> 00:58:38.400
And um, you know, I've experienced a deep heartbreak, which was extremely transformative for me.

00:58:38.559 --> 00:58:52.159
And so, as one does as an artist, I sort of took that pain and turned it into my passion and my um my creativity, and so that is happening.

00:58:52.239 --> 00:59:06.960
And then I'm also doing a television series that films in New York that I'm also really passionate about, and that one is also it's not a life story, but it's um I relate so heavily to the main character.

00:59:07.039 --> 00:59:24.159
She's only 16, but she's a prodigy, she's a virtuoso on the piano, she's Juilliard-bound, and but she lives in Brownsville, Brooklyn, which is a very marginalized community, a very difficult environment to navigate, particularly as a young person.

00:59:24.320 --> 00:59:40.400
And she loses her father to police brutality, she loses her mother to gun violence, and then she's orphaned at 16, and so she finds herself unexpectedly in this drug world and becomes a highly successful drug lord at 16.

00:59:40.639 --> 00:59:53.440
But she's navigating the struggle of pursuing her creativity and going to Juilliard and playing in the New York Phil, which is what her mother wanted for her, and what she wants for herself, and survival.

00:59:53.599 --> 00:59:54.000
Wow.

00:59:54.159 --> 00:59:58.400
And it's this difficult path, and will she and or won't she and can she redeem?

00:59:58.639 --> 01:00:00.079
It's called Brownsville Redemption.

01:00:00.159 --> 01:00:00.400
Oh right.

01:00:00.719 --> 01:00:02.559
Can she redeem herself or not?

01:00:02.719 --> 01:00:04.800
And does she go too far or not?

01:00:04.880 --> 01:00:05.920
And yeah.

01:00:06.239 --> 01:00:07.440
That's amazing.

01:00:07.679 --> 01:00:08.159
Thank you.

01:00:08.480 --> 01:00:10.800
Really amazing, and everything is moving forward.

01:00:11.039 --> 01:00:13.039
Everything is moving forward beautifully.

01:00:13.199 --> 01:00:18.079
Talking about manifesting, it's like it's all effortless.

01:00:18.159 --> 01:00:24.159
I mean, I've been in the industry for almost 28 years, so it's like effortlessly falling into place.

01:00:25.920 --> 01:00:32.159
There's their dues have been paid, but it's it's the way it's all coming together is divine.

01:00:32.320 --> 01:00:43.280
It's divinely inspired, and I get out of the way, and I just show up and and I'm present to the work and present to the story that needs to be told.

01:00:43.440 --> 01:00:46.880
I always say that I'm a vessel and the story comes through me.

01:00:47.039 --> 01:00:47.360
Yes.

01:00:47.599 --> 01:00:51.840
And I just I just move out of the way and let it come through me.

01:00:52.559 --> 01:01:04.159
And um, with these two projects in particular, and there's other projects I'm working with brands and whatnot on, but these are the two big, big projects right now that are sort of leading the way.

01:01:04.800 --> 01:01:06.719
And you're taking care of yourself in the process?

01:01:06.960 --> 01:01:07.440
100%.

01:01:07.920 --> 01:01:08.159
Good.

01:01:08.320 --> 01:01:08.480
Yes.

01:01:08.880 --> 01:01:10.400
Do you not burn yourself out?

01:01:11.039 --> 01:01:11.920
That is not allowed.

01:01:12.239 --> 01:01:12.800
Not allowed.

01:01:13.119 --> 01:01:15.760
The film is about self-care and self-love.

01:01:16.079 --> 01:01:18.559
I'd be a complete hypocrite.

01:01:18.800 --> 01:01:23.199
And again, it was my journey of really leaning in and solidifying that.

01:01:23.360 --> 01:01:37.679
And I and I've put rituals and practices in place for myself to make sure that I don't burn out, to make sure that I always, always go back to balance and self-care and self-love and all these things.

01:01:37.840 --> 01:01:38.159
Yeah.

01:01:39.039 --> 01:01:39.760
Thank you.

01:01:40.000 --> 01:01:40.320
Yeah.

01:01:40.559 --> 01:01:46.480
It's been so wonderful to know you and to start this friendship journey together.

01:01:46.880 --> 01:01:48.639
And thank you for sharing today.

01:01:49.280 --> 01:01:49.440
Thank you.

01:01:49.840 --> 01:01:50.639
I really appreciate it.

01:01:51.840 --> 01:01:53.280
It's been lovely.

01:01:54.000 --> 01:01:54.800
Thank you.

01:01:57.039 --> 01:01:57.840
Thank you.
